Many thanks to Samuel for his support.
Hopefully I have done some progress.
But this is totally empiric as the windows package is not really documented.
As BrlAPI is not providing anything (no window, nothing, idle), I stopped it
and started Brltty.exe which is included in the Bin folder.
It shows

Err, but did you disable the release-device option as we discussed
earlier? That said, the xw window should be sho

Ah, no, it's only able to read console windows, nothing more. To re

Well, that is expected: BrlAPI is just a server, waiting for your
orders. Now you need to make your application act as a client.

Hello,
Many thanks to Samuel and Dave for their answers.
About the admin rights, I noticed that BRLTTY in debug mode is writing a log
file in C:/Program Files/BRLTTY. That is the reason why it does not work
properly under W7 without admin rights.
Regarding BrlAPI, the service is properly launched

Yes, the mkwin script now does this.

Hello,
As Dave said, you most probably want to use the xw driver. Also, it's
expected that it doesn't show a braille device by default, just because
on windows we enable auto-driver-release by default, to let other screen
readers take the braille device when they want to. You can modify

That won't do what you might be expecting. Do you have an actual braille
device? If so, then you need to select the driver for
Hello,
I want to interface Infty products (like Chatty Infty) to Braille devices to
increase their accessibility.
I have heard of BRLTTY and tried to use it on a Windows 7 PC.
I have selected "brltty-win-5.2-1-libusb.exe" and loaded it.
As I want to test a potential interface I tried to select
