I found the problem. The reason the upgrade succeeded on the test
server is because the mysql root user does not have a password. It
failed on the production system because the mysql root user does have a
password. After running the update script manually, all appears to be
good. :)

This happened after upgrading the binaries from version 11.0.6
I am just getting caught up on the list . You need to follow upgrade
instructions for your database. There are scripts available to perform
the upgrade. Depending on which version of 5.X that you were running,
there are different starting points.

This is because the Bacula´s database version used in some 5.X versions is
12. Since some 5.X versions to 7.0.5, the database version is 14. You just
need to run "update_mysql_tables" script in your Bacula´s bin directory.
Please, stop bacula daemons first.

import my bacula.sql dump file from my old bacula server which was running 5.x

you should do the following:
cd /usr/libexec/bacula
./update_bacula_tables mysql
Some note here, unfortunately the manual is omitting the database
parameter if you're not using postgresql:

I'm running CentOS 6.3 and I've just upgraded Bacula 5.0.0.x to the
newest version 5.2.10. from the rawhide repository. ( I'm using MYSQL as
my Database)
Ever since i did the upgrade my "bacula-dir and bacula-sd" Failed to
Start after the upgrade.

So i don't have to update my database.
ah, found the real problem.
An old process, wasn't kill't.
So my bacula runs on the old version.
now all is fine

But i have the following error:

The Database was new created befor.
