I have not been able to really find documentation on how to make one
for Debian, and I have not found one to download.

I can see init on the cd, why wont the darn sytem find it?
My guess is that it has something to do with file system support that is
missing, or maybe its the loop device?
Ive rebuilt things a few times, but I still cant get things to gel.

Title: RE: [Bacula-users] Rescue cd create/make problem
Hi to all!
I took the advice about loading a minimal OS config and then restoring from backup. I have another issue that may or may not be related to the restore...
I used "restore all" from the console, with files bein
Thank you Kern, Arno, and Erich for your responses.

Can't supply any input, however I am keenly interested in the

the POST when (I'm guessing) it tries to read from the drives I'm
presented with a blank screen and a blinking underscore cursor in the

I just got my second failure to recover. This isn't a production
server, but I need to know this'll work when I need it.
If you have done a bare-metal recovery using the rescue disk, I would
appreciate feedback on how it went, and what challenges were
experienced.
Thanks.

The only mistake is if you don't have some sort of rescue CD.

Hello.
Maybe, I've made a mistrake creating Rescue CD.
I'm succesfully load shell login program from Rescue CD,
and enter username root, but invitation for entering
password, immediately after I'm type root and press enter a
message 'invalid login' emerge.

Great for the 2.6 kernel !
I looked at the ML archive this afternoon and only seen that
it was not working, I might have missing an announce for that.
For the rest, I will first test if I really need differents kernels for
differents machines !
Just one more question : Can I use the cvs version o

only the machine
on which the iso has been created will have its kernel and binaries on
CD, right ?
It is OK when all the backuped

I am having no success
getting a rescue cdrom created for a RedHat Fedora core 3 system.
It seems to create it correctly, however, when I try to boot the cdrom
to do a test restore, I get "Unable to mount root fs" and kernel panic.
Anybody have any tips on creating a rescue cd for FC3?
