Hi,
First I will say "Thank You!" to all developers and testpersons of the
bacula project.
We use it now in production since 2 weeks. We backup 5 Solaris servers
(Solaris 8 and 10) and this with nearly 500Gb of data. We use a Tandberg
SDLT320 drive and a dedicated Solaris server (Sun V240) for ba
Hi,
I have the following Error, after the tape filled. The job stopped with an
Error! All following Jobs also terminated with an Error.
Is ther an Error in my config (see below)? Should I upgrade to 1.38.2 ?
Any hints are welcome
I configured the storage to wait 8h if Tape is full/offline.
Hi
We installed bacula 1.38.1 on Solaris 10.
I would like to have the following situation:
If Tape is full, unmount/offline and wait until next volume is inserted in
the drive.
But Bacula aborts the Job after 5min and all jobs waiting for the new tapes
are also aborted.
How schould I configure
Hi,
We need to archive yearly backups 5 years and schould be able to restore
those tapes.
Can I read/restore old tapes, written by old versions of bacula with a new
Version (1.36 to 1.38)?
How often are there changes to the format how bacula writes tapes?
Which settings of the storage deamon ar
Hi,
I have the following call to in my job definition:
ClientRunBeforeJob = "/etc/bacula/scripts/ClientRunBeforeJob.sh '%c' '%d'

The documentation explains the following character substitution for

Hi,
I would like to configure my bacula 1.38.1 to use the current loaded blank
or recycled tape instead of the last appendable tape of the pool.
Is it possible, if yes how?
The background is, that we would like to have only one pool, because of
simpler tapehandling and would like to change the T
I disabled compression on my solaris boxes! It was very slow with
gzip-compression.
I have the 1.38.1 release of bacula and it workes fine. The
MaximumNetworkBufferSize did'nt help to increase the performance, it was the
gzip-compression which resulted in very slow performance...

Hi,
We will use two SDLT-Tapes (no autochanger) for backups.
How should I configure this tapes, they are both the same devicetypes
(Tandberg SDLT320).
I would like to use them in parallel for multiple jobs from diffrent
clients. So we can get faster backups. The drives are connectet to the same

Hi
Can I configure bacula to reuse tapes (Recycle them) without relabel them?
It would be nice to see when a tape was first used (how old it is).
I now use date/time in the LabelFormat but if it is relabled after recycling
it does'nt help much...

Does I need to configure a Scatch-Pool is it created automatically?

Hi
If I stop the bacula deamons with the bacula script (/etc/bacula) it always
writes a core file from the director:
core: ELF 32-bit MSB core file SPARC Version 1, from 'bacula-dir'
Is it normal?
My installation is on a Solaris 10 server.

We use ist on Solaris 10 and also tested on Solairs 9.
We compiled it with gcc 3.4.2 on Solaris 9 and gcc 3.4.4 on Solaris 10.
I did'nt use any special options at compiletime.
All the problems I had were the result of my bad config...

I'm new to bacula and after severel tests (with bacula 1.36.3 and 1.38.0) I
tried to backup our first solaris-server (Solaris 10) with bacula. It worked
