I am using bacula version 1.38.5. Below are some of the results related to
my backup. To the best of my knowledge, the congurartion on all the clients
(Windows XP) is same. I have been unable to resolve the discrepencies in the
result. If any one can please help me in this regard.

a strange thing just happened to me. I was working on adding the clients,
and all of a sudden i reaslised that when i do list clients on my wx
console, it does not show me all the clients listed in the bacula-dir.conf.

client fd,conf file does not have any place where the server ip or name is
defined.It justs has the name of the director, which I believe has nothing
to do with the access. I do however remeber while installing the client it
did asked for the the server name, and I gave FQDN there. My h
If I issue status client=client-name, it is able to connect to the director
thouh. Does it have anything to do?

I am trying to add a windowes XP client to my backup infrastructure. I
already have one, but when i tried to add the second with exact same
configuration, I recieve the following errors where tracfire is the bacula
server, when i run the job.

Can we use latest bacula client for older versions of bacula server or we
need to use the same version which came with the version of the server.
Secondly while installing the bacula client on one of the windows machine,
it asks for the director password. Now I have taken this task from the

I am facing the following problem:
I have configured a job resource for a system with the backup level full.
Now when i create another job which has everything same but the backup level
differential or incremental, since the job name is different it
automatically reverts to full backup. I ju
if I can manage the backup with all 5 dailies of one week going to
one tape. But if I have to stick with my previous scheme, how will I cater

I want to know if the incremental and differential backups can tale a fuill
backup from a different pool as their reference point.
Currently, I am using a full backup pool for the full backups, and since it
takes pretty long for all the system's full backup
