Hi Miguel,
This is a "no left space" problem. Maybe you do not have enough space at the
/tmp during the script dump or maybe you do not have enough space at the
directory where your make_catalog_backup.pl script is trying to put your .sql
dump. Have you checked where the .sql is being placed by

Hello,
is there a way to configure bacula that it will select the best
currently available media type for a job?
I have a tape library with both LTO-3 and LTO-4 drives. Assume I add
both LTO-3 and LTO-4 tapes to the same pool.
I would like to configure bacula such that it will make optimal use
Alan,
The cleaning alert came on a month or so ago. I cleaned it and it went
away.
Here's what I see when I do smartctl with a tape loaded. I don't see
anything that specifies the level or type of error correction:
[root@backup01 log]# smartctl -a /dev/nst0
smartctl 5.43 2012-06-30
Thanks for the suggestion. The problem is that I really have different
retention policies depending on the server being backed up. This means that in
my bacula directory configuration I need to use one pool definition per server.
This has the nice aspect that I have volumes per server and can la

Hi, this may be the same as Sven's recommendation but if you want to
guarantee the ability to restore data as it was 7 days ago then
you'll need to set your re
Hi Sven,
That's actually a very nice way around my problem. The only issue here I see is
that as I am using one pool/job/client/filesets/etc per server I backup, I will
have to double nearly everything in my configuration. Is there maybe another
alternative? or maybe is my practice of having on
This is a nice (hidden) feature but unfortunately in my case it does not help
as my file has been modified in the time frame where I do not have any previous
full backups.
I guess I will go with Sven's suggestion, or does anyone have any other
recommendation on running a weekly backup with 7

Hi all,
I hoped I would never need to use my Bacula backup for a restore, but I do.
The problem is that the system hard drive died. I've replaced it and
installed the same OS, Centos 6.5, that I had before, plus Bacula, MySQL,
and Webmin. All is good up to this point, now I'd like to restore the

You can't. Restoring from an incremental backup always requires ALL

Hello,
I am using the following schedule for my backups:
Run = Full sun at 1:00
Run = Incremental mon-sat at 1:00
with a file retention of 7 days, meaning that I have max 7 days old backups.
The problem now is that I can't restore from an incremental backup which has
