Thanks John,
I hate when I think of all the details to provide in the email but forget to
type them out.
Yes, it's a Dell PV-124T changer with a single LTO4 drive (also single
magazine, which with a 2nd mag, this wouldn't be an issue).
I tried the auto-label during some testing and the I coul

If I understand correctly, all 50 servers are at the same remote
location, and all are on the same local network. In that case, why not
put Bacula Dir and SD on one of the servers, with SD using the NAS as
disk storage? You can control from HO via SSH into the server running

Howdy,
If I have a multi LTO4 tape backup running that will require swapping tapes
(i.e. it will use all of the tapes in the autochanger and require a few more),
is there any way during the job for the operator to tell Bacula to pause once
it finishes filling the current tape?
The idea, I know

Hi,
I'm new to this forum so hi everyone :)
I would appreciate your input on what would be the best approach to backup my
data on linux servers using bacula...
I have around 50 servers to back up, every server is connected to NAS box on
local network (via NFS) where the backups should be store

Hello,
I am trying to wipe one of my tapes that would not allocate to a pool upon
labeling. The tape is loaded in the drive and I've stopped bacula-sd. However,
when I attempt to issue the bscan command below it tells me it cannot access
the mysql server. I've tested with the password located i
Dear bacula users,
I just installed version 5.0.2 on a freshly OpenSuSE 11.3 system using the
following packages:
http://sourceforge.net/projects/bacula/files/rpms/5.0.2/bacula-libs-5.0.2-1.su112.i586.rpm/download
http://sourceforge.net/projects/bacula/files/rpms/5.0.2/bacula-postgresql-5.0.2-1.
Thanks both for responding,
Seems I was too impatient, as it must not have been fully finished
(even though bscan command had returned to a command prompt). After
leaving it a few more hours i checked the jobid again, and this time
it was able to list the dir structure of the backup.
However, the
Bacula need to use IP and Name to autenticate the server..
The command 'estimate' work well?
Can you modify that cron script to add the new address?

Hi everyone,
I'm trying to configure a client in a remote network.
In order to work, i had to configure an address translation.
I also indicated the external ip address in the bacula-fd.conf. (this
address is then translated to the real bacula server address)
The authentication seems to work but
Hi everyone!
I have get the following issue while trying to make a weekly backup of each
client (Windows Client) and using one pool and one volume for each other. The
idea is having just one weekly file per backup and per client, trying to save
disk space.
The trouble occurs when some client is
