If that's the case I'd recommend sticking with existing packages
availible in your distro's repository. Anything else is asking for pain
if you're not
Bacula 5.0.1 and an HP MSL2024 changer.
The drive is empty and the tape I wish to restore from is resident in
the library.
After choosing some files to restore, I get the following:
restore jobid="163" client="backup1-fd_arc" file="?restore_476707713_20"
done
3 files selected to be restored.
Thanks,
However I'm somewhat of a newb to linux (only working with it for a couple
years) and building RPMs a beyond me. Is there a site to walk through how
to get bacula with bat built either RPM or source?
Thanks again for your help.

Hi,
I have weird behavior of bacula.
When I use console command everything works fine - 180 MB of backuped files
But scheduler makes problem - it has no access to files - 0MB of backuped
files
bconsole
run
job: ssi_mssql_codz
30-Mar 08:43 backup-ssi-dir JobId 117: Start Backup JobId 117,

For more clarity:
What actually happens is that when writing to the Pool where the
File/Job Retentions are specified, the retentions will apply to any
File/Job's that were ALSO written to another Pool, thus overriding the
Client resource regardless of Pool.

My, possibly mistaken, understanding of having File/Job Retention
directives in a Pool resource was to be able to deviate from File/Job
Retentions set by the Client resource AND to confine those retentions to
the Pool where they are specified.
What actually happens is that when using the Poo

A Full Backup was run but it looks like Incremental Vol. was used instead of
the Full Vol.

Create a Pool to hold volumes for that job, and set

Do you want to label these Volumes? (yes|no): yes
Defined Pools:
1: Default
2: File
3: Scratch
Select the Pool (1-3): 1
Connecting to Storage daemon Autochanger at rhbackup3:9103 ...
Sending label command for Volume "MBX181" Slot 1 ...
3301 Issuing autochanger &q
Hi,
I want to create a volume everytime that a job is executed, i mean, if i
execute a job everyday, i create a job everydayis it possible?
how?...does it matters if the job is incremental???
thanks

So that was probably the problem. For incremental/differental to work
correctly, bacula expects that the new/modified files will

Hi,
which MySQL update scripts from which archives do I need to run to go from
2.4.4 to 5.0.1, can I skip minor revisions and just run the ones from
3.0.3 and 5.0.1 or are there other db changes between say 3.0.0 and 3.0.3a?
Also, can I expect problems if I added some extra indexes for speed
Hi,
I've configured a job to backup a server mounted by sshfs. The weird
thing is that bacula only backuped a part of all files.
Job configuration is as follows
# Agregamos un fullbackup para fido
Job {
Name = "Backup_Nido_Martes-LTO3"
Type = Backup
Level= Differential

I have next backup strategy:
1) 3 pools: DayPool, WeekPool, MonthPool. In DayPool I have 4 volumes
(tapes) for monday-thuesday, in WeekPool I have 3 volumes (tapes) for each
week in a month and 12 volumes for MonthPool. Each Pool has its volume
retention - for example for DayPool is 6 days and 4 h

Hello Bacula Users,
I would like to announce on this list the development of a new graphical
user interface for Bacula.
This interface is primarily intended for Bacula users (as opposed to
administrators). Users will be able to easily manage hosts, filesets and
schedules, and from these differ
