We've had Bacula 2.2.8 in production since October, and in the last
month, I finished moving around 130
Sorry. I forgot to mention MySQL 4. Its still responding. I've tested it
while the jobs were hung. Also, if I cancel the hung job, the next tape job
in queue starts and completes just fine.

Hi all,
Been using Bacula 2.4.2 on Solaris 10_x86 for almost 2 years now.
Recently tape backups have been entering into a state that I can only

Hello,
The code for the database format change, which I mentioned in my previous
email today, is now committed to the SVN.
Bacula can now (by default) keep track of more than 4 billion File
records! :-)

Hi John,
Thanks for the reply. Obviously 1 backup use 1 drive, I know this.
The problem is that I run 16 backup jobs
The "update status" from "error" to "append" failed. Took the tapes
out of the library, checked physically and put it back in the slots,
updated the slots and still not working. Tried the CLI "mt -f
/dev/nstX eod" command on both tapes from each drive but that also
failed with "input output error"

Just in case someone runs into this too:

stanzas with Name, Address, FDPort, Catalog, Password etc. directives),
but not yet all the other associated stuff like
Storage/Pool/Job/Fileset/Schedule definitions for them, then

For each library on the Storage daemon I defined the 2 resources

For special data we have a backup scheme that does not really fit

Dear Bacula users,
I'm looking for an advice for my backup setup. The basic question is if I
should use the recycle feature or not.
Basically the setup is as follows:
1. The storage daemon writes to file volumes named (full|incr)
into a directory /somewhat/backups
2. These files are period

Hi John
This machine is backuped up by a SSH tunnul.
When Director backup this client, it creates a ssh tunnel, with the needed
port tunneling.
This configuration works on another machine prefectly.
See this howto : http://wiki.bacula.org/doku.php?id=sshtunnel
