Hi,
I just upgraded my backup server but instead of going for Fedora 7 (as
planned) I had to settle for Ubuntu Server 7.04. Fedora just won't install on
this old ProLiant ML330 G3 box no matter what I tried. Wasted 3 days on it
while Ubuntu installed in less than 10 minutes. Now I need to insta
I have put a 'It works for me' release of the Exchange Agent up on my

Hi all,
Here's a quicky I couldn't find in the archives... I was looking at
both "Max Wait Time" and "Incremental Max Wait Time". The idea being
that I may want to set an overall max wait and then have a shorter
wait time on my incrementals.
But this part of the manual has me confused as
Hi Bob,
Typically, it's automatic in Bacula.
From example, you create a pool for each server you want to save (to file or
tape doesn't matter)
For each pool you define the number of volume you want, prelabeled or not
(bacula could do this alone) and with correct
definition for prunning / purgin
I only see 800 files... a lot less than the full directory ! The client is also
Linux based and no changes have been made in the directory structure.

I’ve been evaluating Symantec BackupExec and Bacula for use in backing up a 6
to 8 server Windows environment and we’ll be adding Linux later. BackupExec
has a feature called “cascaded drive pools” where you can put two (or more)
tape drives in a pool and a job will use the first tape drive and

about 10 windows clients.
I can connect to the bacula server from the client with wxconsole but
when I run a job it tells me my fd password is failing. I've been
through the autherrors and Windows sections of the docs but I

Hi,
is it possible to work with data encryption on a bacula-fd for Windows XP?
I couldn't find any entries in the list or in the documentation.
I am testing a Bacula Server 2.0.3 on Debian Etch
My Clients are Linux and Windows.
The Data Encryption on Linux seams to work well.
Thanks for your an

I do not think that
Hello,
I'm not sure this is the best place to send this in, but since I would
like to have input from more people on this I thought I'd send it to
this list first. I am using the bacula-tray-monitor application to
monitor a client and the SD in our setup here (I could not get the

Hello
We are using bacula for the first time in restoration mode : bacula
version 2.03 / platform fedora core 6. Bacula has been running w/o save
errors for 2 months.
A test user has asked us to restore an entire directory = what it
contained last friday.
If I go through the restore process (
Ok perfect, I'm going to try it out !!!
Ah, I haven't found in the user-manual any reference to limit the backup
size for an user.
My idea is to allow users to configurate their paths but without
exeeding 4Gbytes of data.
Thanks. Aitor.
