Aah. So did forget to mention it. I'm running 2.0.3.
I cant seem to see 2.0.4 on sourceforge - are you referring to CVS head?
Thanks!

Hi,
You failed to mention which version of Bacula you are running.
However this is a known bug with some of the earlier 2.x versions of
Bacula. I believe it was fixed in either 2.0.3 or 2.0.4.
Basically, the problem is *when* the verify job chooses the last
successful backup to verify. With th

Thanks, I have gotten several suggestions for alternatives that might be
better for what I want. Bacula looks like a great program but with more
capabilities than what I need right now.

Found it : the SD machine had a wrong gateway. TCP handshake could never
finish because the answer was sent to the wrong IP. Since the packet was
never received, I had nothing in the FW log... I just added a route for the
client with the correct gateway (the firewall) and everything's fine (canno
Hi,
I have a verify run after my backup run. The backup runs successfully,
as does the subsequent catalog backup, but then the verify job then
wants the next prior backup job.
For example, if I had a successful backup on Monday, to volume Monday,

Hi,
I have just started looking for back-up software for a specific

I am trying to implement bacula in an office with up to 30 windows
clients connecting to a linux server. The idea is to have the user
install the file daemon themselves. However the win32 package on
bacula.org requires the user to edit the config files themselves. The

try running commands directly with console output, for example :
bacula-dir -f
if that produces nothing, try adding -d and increase number
until you get something useful.
a wild guess : it's possible your config file permissions are incorrect :)

Hi,
looking for a good backup solution that can handle multiple machines, I
installed Bacula 2.3.0 with MySQL on openSUSE, every step according to the
user guide.
When I run "./bacula start" I get no error messages.
I found I couldn't connect to the Console daemon by "./bconsole" so I

As I sat here earlier watching the 39 MB SRPM (30 MB of which is the

grown substantially since the change to latex and I'm only packaging the

Hi all,
A short while ago I made my backups with rsync and other Os-Tools. But I get
more and more problems.
I want to change my backup to Bacula. Because I think it is very flexible.
My first goal is to make a daily backup of all my servers (5 Linux and 5
Windows Server) to a backup server.

Hello,
I just wanted to let any of you who may be using the SVN know that in order to
fix the Storage daemon to remember where tapes were last used to avoid
unnecessary moving of volumes from one drive to another (mostly seen in
autochangers), I had to modify handling of the device control reco
