Hi,

I have just started looking for back-up software for a specific
application. I have an Athlon 64 X2 3800, 1G ram, Windows 2000 computer
where I process my music files and them copy them over the network to an
small Celeron 433, 512M ram, Xubuntu system to act as a music server
running SlimDevices SlimServer to play through a SqueezeBox connected to
my stereo system. As I am getting more files, it is getting harder to know
what needs to be copied from one to the other. Bacula looks interesting
but before I get into downloading, installing and learning about it, I'd
like an opinion as to whether this is the best approach. Is there some
simpler software that would be recommended for my application? At this
point I have about 35G of files arranged in an Artist/Album/Song directory
structure and I would like the back-up program to scan both the source and
the destination an automatically copy any new or changed files as I add
more music. I am looking for something to run on the Linux side. This
seems simple and I wonder if Bacula is way overkill for what I am doing.
Any suggestions?
Thanks,
Steve
