Hi,
I've created several catalogs in my testing setup. I'd like to browse these,
now but I can't find the command to browse a given catalog only. Isn't it
possible?
Cheers.

Hi all,
I recently purchased the SONY AIT-100 ATAPI tapedrive, and I'm now trying to
get it to play nice on FreeBSD.
The OS detects something (although not exacly what I have? or?) (snippet from
dmesg):
ast0: TAPE at ata1-master UDMA66
After popping a tape (fresh out of the package. Do I have
Hi All,
I successfully bcopied a tape to disk. Then, during a subsequent bcopy
from disk to tape, I got the following output:
[EMAIL PROTECTED] ~]# bcopy -c /etc/bacula/bacula-sd.conf -i FILE0002 -o
MSR131L3 -v -w /var/bacula/spool VG1-LV0 Drive-1
bcopy: butil.c:283 Using device: "VG1-LV0" for r
I see I have good/bad timing. I will be trying the 2.0.4 binaries.

It seems to have just fallen right over at the end of the tape. The "btape
test" worked fine. Apparently I was too optimistic. See below for what the
beginning of "btape fill" looks like.

This looks great, but
Are you then restricted to install on the same hardware and the same disk
setup?

I do know that in bcosole, you must mount the drive and then issue
label
to label the media mounted in the volume. Very similar with disc
backups if you aren't automatically labeling the volumes. Your choice
what to name it. Bacula will then use the newly created volume for
the backup job.

No. I'd say more, but there isn't any more. :)

Hi
Is there any way to pause a job which is running and then restart it from
where it was paused without effecting anything. I am asking the question
because I am anticipating a situation where I might need to use the loader
for other purposes in between the time when a job is running.

Hello,
I have built a new version of the Win32 binaries, which is labeled 2.0.4 and
is version 2.0.3 plus a few fixes, including what I hope will fix the
ftruncate problem. Since I have not tested this code, I am not sure what it
will do, so please test it with caution. In addition to fixing
Everything was working last Friday but when I came in today, I noticed that
Bacula had gone from writing to Vol51, which still shows Append, to Vol58
which is full. Vol 51 is in slot 5 and vol58 is in slot 4. Vol52, 53, 54,
55 are in slot 6, 7, 8, 1 respectively.
I have looked through the messa
I was using that version to coincide with the director version.
If I were to install the latest version of the Bacula File Daemon, will it
still work with the older version of Bacula Director?
I know I should upgrade, and I will shortly; however, I just took over this
job and I don't want to bl

Don't know, but I've never built anything older than 1.38.11 on HP-UX
(you should have included the version number), and in addition I've
never built on IA64, or on 11.23. If you include these things in your
ticket (though I see I missed Itanium, but I

Hello,
Would the user who has been suffering from the Windows ftruncate bug for
quite some now please file a bug report, and l attempt to fix it. Please
remember that Win32 servers are not fully supported, and we don't have any
resident Win32 expert, so don't hold your breath.

Deleting a disk volume will not mean that it will then reuse that
number, so you will have a blank spot if that media no longer exists. I
think this answers your question, but I'm not 100% certain what it was
to begin with. :)

Thank you very much for the quick/great respsonses. ;-) The disk
volume (required due to my lack of a second tape drive) introduces one
more question... After I am done bcopying from the disk volume to the
final duplicate tape volume, is it better to delete or disable the disk
volume? I ask t

I have used Mondo/Mindi. I'm not sure there is a need to incorporate
Mindi into Bacula though. For one thing, Mindi will work only for Linux
and FreeBSD. For another, Bacula already has the hooks to incorporate
Mondo/Mindi through a RunScript directive in bacula-dir.conf. I have
always run mond

From my limited experience with tapes, there are a couple utilities
that need to be run to make sure bacula can talk to the drive. One
utility will write to the tape checki
