First I would like to thank the development team for writing such an
excellent product; I have been using bacula on my home network for quite
some time and have very little issues with its functionality.
I apologize if this has already been answered, and if so I would
appreciate a pointer to the l

The only suggestion I have is parsing a query output. Or, alternatively,
directly access the catalog.

I agree 100% with Kern - if you do not know the system and it is a
critical application - either master it or use the most common
configuration to get better support or look for something else.

I have YET to get a clean backup of one of my servers. It is a windows
2003 server with the SD and FD on it. The Director is located on another
machine. I setup the director to tell the FD of this server to send it's
files to the SD of this same server which has a TAPE drive connected to
it. Th

It should be no problem to mix the point releases, unless there's a very
specific bug.
Felix Schwarz works on the RHEL4 RPM's, but give the guy a break, it's
been what, like five days since 2.0.3 was released? Blastwave hasn't
updated yet either, a la
I did not realize that I had to put all command

I think the easiest way is move and then upgrade.

I need to move my bacula server to a new machine, and while I'm at it I
want to upgrade to 2.0.3. What would be the best approach - move and
then upgrade, or upgrade and then move, or install the new server with
2.0.3 and then move/upgrade the database?

I am posting the relevant portions of each file:
Dir.conf:
Director {# define myself
Name = backup-dir
Description = Central Backup Server
DIRport = 9101# where we listen for
UA connections
QueryFile = "/etc/bacula/query.sql"
WorkingDirectory
According to the release notes, this situation is not
recommended.

I have a backup job running and storing on a Dell PowerVault 110T DLT
tape drive. The backup job start fine and runs fine until it gets to
998.4Mbytes. After that the job stops and the tape is put into "error".
The specific messages I get are these:

Hi,
We have seen the same behaviour as described below. When a Verify job is
scheduled to run before the last Backup job is finished, it will not
verify the backup that was running but the previous job that already was
finished at schedule time. So you have to make sure that a backup job is
finish
Hi,
I am backing up /home on one server to file storage on another.
I would like a "full" to happen 4 times a year and incrementals every
other day so I set up the following schedule:
Schedule {
Name = "homesched"
Run = Fullon 1 jan apr jul oct at 18:05
Run = Incremental daily at 1:05
}
Hi,
According to your scsilist, the Ultrium name is Tape0 so for the tape
you would use 'Archive Device = Tape0'.
For the changer you need to install the HP windows driver for you
changer. It will then appear as Changer0, and you would use
'Changer Device = Changer0'.

Hi,
I'm currently running a 2.02 server dir and sd with mostly 2.02 clients.
However, two clients are running Debian Stable and the 1.36 bacula-fd.
These two clients seem to be being backed up and restored without
problem. Should I be worried that this will fail at some point?
Thanks,
Michael
thanks for the remark Florian,
but the problem is : without a backup server we can not make backups nor
restore ! so it's realy urgent given that the production has started in a new
country ! the version already running is under openSUSE 10, so in the new
country we need to use it under Windows
Is there a known/standard way to get the jobid for the latest incremental
backup for a client using
bconsole?
Or, does anyone have a tried and trusted method of their own?
I need the jobid for an automatic restore from one client to another, in a
bconsole shell script that is

Should work. (At least I'm using 2.0.2 Win32 clients with my 2.0.3 Linux
director.)

Just one question :
Can i use 2.0.2 clients with 2.0.3 release of Bacula?
If not, does anyone work on clients rpms (2.0.3) for rhel4 (i386 and
x86_64)?
Thanks
