I've got a setup that's fairly simple: a bacula director, sd, and fd on a
debian box, and an fd on a remote windows box (that is, it's not even on the
LAN). The relevant sections of the config file are:
/etc/bacula/bacula-dir.conf (on the "server"):
Director {
Name = ptnv-dir

Hello all,
I can’t get bacula to autoload tapes in the autochanger. I’ve read through a
few months of the
archives, but I can’t sort out my issue from the previous issues that have been
reported. BTW, I just started this job
and am trying to pick up where the previous admin left off. I’ve be

I am running Bacula 1.38.11 under CentOS 4.4 with a Quantum SuperLoader3
LTO-3 changer. I have only one magazine for it so it can hold 8 tapes. I
keep a cleaning tape in slot 8 and rotate backup tapes in slots 1-7.
My problem is that sometimes bacula goes into this loop and I just don't
know wha

I feel so stupid!!! I haven't been looking around the job resource because I
thought, if it is running then the problem isn't the job..how wrong was

Hi,
I have a strange problem: a remote run is completed for the file-deamon
and the storage deamon, but the director give that still running.
If I do a list jobs I got:
| 3 | Davis | 2006-11-10 15:10:33 | B| F | 538696 |
14908472806 | T |
| 4 | Davis | 20
Look carefully for missing quotes at the end of the Write Bootstrap lines!

OK I have put all the job definitions back into the directors config file.
I have run a job from two of the clients (one is a windows client, one is a
linux client) and again I get only the 5 jobs displayed.

Hello,
I'm using bacula in a D2D2D backup scenario (disk 2 disk 2 disk), files
in storage daemon are overwritten every night, but they are kept in
external hard drives for a few weeks-months.
Since bootstrap files are overwritten every night as well, it's probably
a good idea to save them to ex

Hi,
1)You should check if your file daemon is actually running.
2)If so, try to telnet from the FD machine to localhost 9102.
3)If that works, try telnetting to the FD machine from another host.
If 1 is negative, start the daemon and check if it does not crash immediately
If 2 is positive and 3 i
