I am running Bacula 1.38.11 under CentOS 4.4 with a Quantum SuperLoader3 LTO-3 changer. I have only one magazine for it so it can hold 8 tapes. I keep a cleaning tape in slot 8 and rotate backup tapes in slots 1-7.
My problem is that sometimes bacula goes into this loop and I just don't know what to do: 16-Nov 09:28 nts-sd: 3301 Issuing autochanger "loaded drive 0" command. 16-Nov 09:28 nts-sd: 3302 Autochanger "loaded drive 0", result is Slot 3. 16-Nov 09:28 nts-sd: 3301 Issuing autochanger "loaded drive 0" command. 16-Nov 09:28 nts-sd: 3302 Autochanger "loaded drive 0", result is Slot 3. 16-Nov 09:28 nts-sd: 3301 Issuing autochanger "loaded drive 0" command. 16-Nov 09:28 nts-sd: 3302 Autochanger "loaded drive 0", result is Slot 3. 16-Nov 09:28 nts-sd: 3301 Issuing autochanger "loaded drive 0" command. 16-Nov 09:28 nts-sd: 3302 Autochanger "loaded drive 0", result is Slot 3. 16-Nov 09:28 nts-sd: 3301 Issuing autochanger "loaded drive 0" command. 16-Nov 09:28 nts-sd: 3302 Autochanger "loaded drive 0", result is Slot 3. 16-Nov 09:28 nts-sd: 3301 Issuing autochanger "loaded drive 0" command. 16-Nov 09:29 nts-sd: 3302 Autochanger "loaded drive 0", result is Slot 3. Why does it keep doing that, over and over again? 16-Nov 09:29 nts-sd: Please mount Volume "MCL376L3" on Storage Device "Drive-1" (/dev/nst0) for Job nsecure.2006-11-16_09.28.42 *mount The defined Storage resources are: 1: File 2: Autochanger Select Storage resource (1-2): 2 Connecting to Storage daemon Autochanger at 10.10.0.8:9103 ... 3001 OK mount. If this is not a blank tape, try unmounting and remounting the Volume. What the hell does it want from me? I have tried umounting and remounting, it just goes back into this crazy loop. I tried deleting all the volumes, erasing all the tapes, doing "label barcode"... it is driving me NUTS. I have 2 sets of 7 LTO-3 tapes. I would like to be able to go over to the colocation site where the drive is once a week, remove the used tapes and put in fresh ones, and have bacula continue to back up every night. But everytime I have to change the tapes it literally takes me DAYS of screwing with it before it stabilizes again. -- This message has been scanned for viruses and dangerous content by MailScanner, and is believed to be clean. ------------------------------------------------------------------------- Take Surveys.
