Perfect. Now that I know I'm not trying to do something that is
obviously not going to work, I'll run some tests and report back.

OK, I complained too soon. A standard re-boot now works. At least once.
It's still weird, but right now it's working. This is probably the
result of using a retired desktop workstation as a test bed.

That's what I'm asking about, though. I'm almost positive changing DNS
host names isn't a problem (assuming correct Bacula configs), it'

In a scaled-back disaster recovery drill, I backed up a SLES 10 server
(a web server that will replace our active RH 9 web server), then
restore some files to another SLES 10 server. The restore ran fine; when
it was finished, the files were there on the test server. When I reboot

Hi,
I'd like to move one of my Director/SD hosts, and am wondering what the
implications are for name changes. Of course I'll have to change the FD

I want to thank Kern et al for the excellent documentation for Bacula.
The number of options and capabilities of the system is staggering and
the documentation reflects that in it's depth and complexity. Everything
is in there - you just need to read it all and consider the implications

Hmm,
Now that we have a lot of Bacula use I am looking to offload some

For a test I am wanting to direct my messages from specific backup jobs
to specific support personnel. As a test I am going to send the messages
from the catalog backup to another add

Im starting with bacula, and is great!

Hi!
Is it possible to specify retention periods on a job basis? I just found a
setting per client. The problem is, that I have a very large file system that
I split into multiple parts (mainly due to awful long file selection times in

I have recently moved our backup system from one machine running bacula

Hi.
I'm testing Bacula 1.38.9 on Gentoo 2006.1 and I'm a little confused here.
What I would like to achieve is to be able to run a job concurrently with the
same job's different levels.
For example, when there's a full backup running for a week, it'd be possible
to run incrementals or different
Hello,
Is there any way to cancel a command on console, instead of CTRL+C
and run the console again?
For instance, If i execute the "run" command, console will show me
the list of jobs so i can pick one. At that point, who can I get back
to the console prompt without actually choose on
I just fixed this for 1.39.X and 1.40.x.
