Hi,
I'm having trouble understanding an issue I'm having with canceling
jobs in bacula. I had a job last night that was having a problem
with teh client server (unrelated to bacula), so I cancelled the job
on the Director. The problem is that it never went into a terminated
state, so th

Hi folks,
Been using bacula 1.36.2 for a few months on a debian sarge system. I
am having trouble making a rescue cd. First looked for a deb package to
help with the job but I do not see one on debian.org nor does google
yield anything. So if you know of a rescue deb file please let me know.
I am no longer to update my system (CentOS 4.3) using yum. It stops
with the following error:
Error: Missing Dependency: libmysqlclient_r.so.14(libmysqlclient_14) is
needed by package bacula-mysql
Funny thing is, it's installed:
# yum whatprovides libmysqlclient_r.so.14\(libmysqlclient_14\)

Hi,
You could try to enable VSS for that server. Otherwise you will need to
close outlook so the .pst files aren't open.

Hello All,
I am wondering if anyone can help with examples or pointers to complete
the following setup. I have a semi-working setup already but I think its
maybe the 'wrong' way of going about it.

Hello,
This is just to let you know that beginning with this email until Sunday

I doubt that I will be doing any work, but if all goes well, I will at least

Sounds like you've got some bad data in your catalog database. Try
using the dbcheck util
Hello,
I'm getting a lot of these messages when backing up certain systems.
Can someone clarify exactly what the error is referring to?

Hello,
I posted (I hope) the final changes for rpm building for 1.39 to cvs
this afternoon after finishing testing on Mandriva. Mandriva has always
had some odd quirks but this one threw me for a bit. Seems that
somewhere toward the end of the packaging process they silently convert
all manpages t

hi all!
how can I back up open files ( .pst ) of MS Exchange with bacula?
When I try to do it, bacula tells me that a process is locking a part
of that file...
Thanks

I'm not using RMAN, but I'm doing hot backups on disk
using the old-fashioned, user-managed method.
I do it like this:
1) I use the RunBeforeJob directive to copy Oracle's
datafiles and archived redo logs to another directory;
2) I back the directory;
3) I use the RunAfterJob to delete the archived

Hi,
I was wondering if anyone uses Bacula with Oracle RMAN (disk-based)
backups instead of purchasing Legato, Tivoli or Veritas Agent? If so,
could you kindly share your experience. Thanks.

Only the bacula file daemon should be run as root ... which is quite
logical otherwise some files could not be read (permission denied)

Hi,
I'm currently trying to set up bacula. However, considering the
numerous components (FD, SD, Tape, Dir, console, DB), I'm running
into lots of permission-related problems. For example, I was able to
save perform backups (after struggling with permissions after trying
