Are the output to the front and rear channel equivalent when using
this .asoundrc or they are different ?

I'll try this. Can I also just skip dmix6 and route the sound directly to

Hello,
Thanks a lot for your help. If I'll find a solution for the playing speed
problem I'll post it (it won't be soon since today I'm going to a summer
vacation).

ffmpeg doesn't have a (proper) support of 24-bit audio. Even when it can
be read, it's trimmed to 16-bit for processing & output. There seems to
be some progress in this area; if 24-bit audio is important to you, ask
for details in ffmpeg-users ma

channels out.
You can read details in Audiophile-Usb.txt file from kernel
documentation.

Note that using both hw and plughw can lead to specific problems, so

There is no reason to use pulse if you are satisfied with current setup,

Hi all!
Seems like Quartet (ice1724 driver) has two stereo inputs, but my software sees
only one from each pair so that I have too choose in alsamixer which input to
use (PCM 1/2 or 3/4). I want though to use both of them. How can I do that? I'd
like to mix two audio streams using Jack.

0 is only strictly required if you need 24/192 or more than
2 channels for 24/96 or more than 4 channels for 24/48.

if some application has problems with it, try
using oss2jack for it. Of course you'd better disable oss emulation
layer in alsa completely - don't load the modules.

that this problem is strictly alsa-lib related! If you choose to

Well there are Audiophile 192, Audiophile USB and other cards in
Audiophile series - most are even more interesting than older Audiophile
