Well, after all that, I found out that my power connection to the Live!Drive
was bad. Haven't had a chance to test the Lin/Mic In, but the headphones are
working at the very least.

hi, i have a strange problem on a new laptop, where with the alsa device directory
mysteriously disappears on reboot. this has happened to me before on another dell
laptop. this is a fresh install of debian unstable. i never got to the bottom of
exactly the same problem on a machine many months

I did the following

which reported to be successfull
then I issued the following command from within alsa-driver
directory
cvs -z3 -d:pserver:[EMAIL PROTECTED]:/cvsroot/alsa

Successfully (at least without errors) installed the ALSA driver, libs and utils for the
Intel8x0 to support an AD1980 (AC97) on an Asus P4PE motherboard. Running RedHat 7.3
with all updates.
Although modules install (listed below), there is no sound. I've used alsamixer and

No, I could not get an answer about the BIOS setting for soundblaster. I
finally decided to go with a less viable solution (au8820) until this
can get resolved. Sorry. Do you have the same board?

I have soundcard XWave-6000, based on YMF-754 chip.
alsa 0.9rc3 work properly, i have a nice sound in many apps.
How i can to use 2-nd line out on my card ? It work properly in Window$, but not work
with alsa/Linux. I used some variants in alsamixer, but have no sound from 2-nd out.
