Hi!
The trouble is the following: I cannot record anything from microphone
using Crystal 4281 card (driver snd-card-cs4281) and 4620
(snd-card-cs41xx) and Alsa 0.5.12a drivers. Playback is Ok at both
cards. Mixer is Ok too, I hear the signal from the microphone in the
speakers. I tried to swit

Hi Richard, hi Benny(perhaps you have some idea what's going on ;-))

yes, I also have that. There is something else I found

Hello all,
We have a problem having alsa-driver to work since rc3.
The driver compiles fine, but when when we try to register the modules, we got
unresolved symbols, no matter what sound card is used.
Here's my personal output:
depmod: *** Unresolved symbols in
/lib/modules/2.4.19/kernel/soun
Hi,
I attached the outputs of
'cat /proc/asound/card0/*' and
'cat /proc/asound/card0/dsp/*'
before and after reloading the snd-cs46xx module. After reloading the
distortion and popping noises are gone. Does this help finding an error?

Hi All,
I'm using alsa driver for my via82xx sound card on my RedHat 7.3 linux OS.
But I got problems when I setting the volumes.
I have two machines, which have the same configuration, and then I adjust
all volume to max using alsamixer. On one machine, the sound file play fine,
but on the ot
Hi to all,
I have an iBook I want to install ALSA on. I already had a running
version (the one with the internal speaker bug - no sound) which worked
fine with my USB Quattro. In order to fix this bug I tried to install the
latest CVS-version which causes trouble. It installed everything fine

Benny, thanks a lot for your new DSP code. Hardware mixing works great!
I didn't test variable period sizes up to now because I'm using Mandrake
RPMs at the moment. So, patching isn't possible right now, but I'll
change back to tarballs or cvs soon :-). Btw, do you have any idea how

I think the distortion sounds like a DC offset introduced by the PCM
channel. Do you also get popping noise when changing the PCM volume? It
just sounds like changing the supply voltage of a running amplifier for

Hi folks, strange behaviour here.
Here is a Geode based embedded board, using the 5530 south-bridge with an
ad1881 AC97 codec. (ICP Wafer 5825 V1.1).
Since there is no Geode support in alsa yet, I am using the built in
sb16 emulation.
This only works however if the IDE dma is turned OFF. With

I've some troble with my sound card.
I've compiled the kernel with alsa and the driver as modules and
installed alsa using 0.9.0rc5 in kernel 2.5.46
cat /proc/asound/cards:

I recently bought a M-Audio Delta 1010LT (Envy24 chip), and connected
analog output 1 and 2 to my stereo. Everything seems to work ok (drivers
are loaded, no program complains), but there is no sound. I have even
meassured the outputs with a multimeter!
In the envy24controll program, all 'H/W O
I've been fighting with RedHat 8.0 for a couple of weeks
now. I still can't have sound.
1-Linux detects a CS-4610 which cannot play any sound
2- I compiled from source and failed with the "lib" Alsa-
0.9.0rc5
3- I tried the rpm and received "cs-4236+ doesn't exist or
is busy" in 'dmesg' in response
Hi,
I'm using alsa-0.9.0rc5 with SBLive 5.1 digital.
I get an enormous range of ncurses columns in alsamixer ( full list
below).
At present I am transfering cassettes to CD and so recording them as .wav
files.
To do this and listen to the .wav files with either arecord/aplay or snd

Have you tried to hear an audio CD (with analog output) ?
