i have a fujitsu lifebook C series laptop, with yamaha card.
i cant seem to get alsa drivers to work. ... i run debian +
2.4.12
in order to load the driver, i do
modprobe snd-pcm-oss
modprobe snd-mixer-oss
modprobe snd-card-ymfpci
then, i either use 'alsamixer', or amixer to se
i went back to the stable version (0.5.12) and it resolved this problem.

I have it working here with alsa-0.9 beta7, but I will switch to the newest

Hi. I iam running linux with 2.2.14 kernel on it. I just installed the
latest stable release of ALSA drivers(driver - 0.5.12, library 0.5.10
and utils - 0.5.10). Everything is working but i get a very low quality
sound with these drivers. When i listen to music with xmms i constantly
hear crackin
