Yeah , run ./configure --help , and it'll tell you how to include
support for the "virmidi card". its as if its a real card

If you have up2dated yor kernel or installed a kernel rpm you will have problems that we get back to.
Else recompile the alsa and do this.
Completely remove old modules in this directory bytypingrm -rf /lib/modules/(your kernel version)/misc> Compile the driver with these options.> --with-kernel=
