M-Audio Delta Audiophile 2496 and M-Audio Delta 1010LT both worked with spdif. That is, I tested that 1010LT sent it's analog input(s) to spdif and 2496 received them. Sound was as clear as the original analog input. Also captured from spdif (after little modifications to asoundrc) Tommi Uimonen

Hi, I've this chip in a shuttle SB51G, it's true that's the spdif output is supported (with Alsa 0.9.6 at least), but the sound is quite awful, there are lot's of noises, no deep in basses etc etc I have an old SB Live which has a spdif output, and it works just fine, though it takes a pci port :
