When I used Alsa 0.9.0rc2 everything worked. But last week I recompiled
Alsa 0.9.7 and now I have the same problem.
However I did not have a time to play with the problem.
Maybe the problem is that snd_oss_seq (or stg. like that - OSS emulation
support for sequencer) module is not loaded.

oh... I assumed it did, but I was obviously wrong!
I believe I have to use a software sintetizer, and that's fine.
But... I don't quite understand the "big picture" here... my goal is to
get MIDI work using Wine (actually, Cxoffice).
Therefore, I *think* I need the devices /dev/sequencer
Does intel8x0 have integrated MIDI? If not, get a software synthesizer like
timidity++ together with the patches.
