Hi,
Can someone help me. My microphone in Ubuntu does not work. It did work at
one point, then I ran one of the updates and then it stopped working. I
tried to get it to work again, but with no luck.
I uploaded my ALSA information to:

Did you log out and back in? Those changes won't take effect unless
you do.
Temporarily remove the ~/.asoundrc in your home directory,
remove /etc/asound
I tried it, but still not work :( thx though, appreciate.

My microphone connected to my SBLive sound card does not record even though
I can hear my voice on the speakers. I tried with arecord, krec, audacity.
Other than that it works fine. All controls in alsamixer are up and the
microphone is selected for capture.
Here are some info.

Dear Marco,
No, I have not solved the problem. I have determined that the
correct module is the snd-hda-intel, but I can not figure out which is
the correct model= to use. Have tried hp, laptop, laptop-dig,
basic and others but no success. I'm still looking for a lead on
that. I'm not sure if

It worked, thanks.
The sound is somewhat distorted, but at least I can

Hi,
I am unable to get my microphone working. The chipset is VIA VT8235 (AD1980)
