I've decided to write a help-wanted message after 2 weeks of fighting
against my soundcard, without success.
I've a Debian installed on a PC based on intel's D845BG motherboard
(i845 chipset), having audio integrated on-board.
I've recompiled my 2.4.18 kernel _with_ sound support (as a
