First of all, thank you for your fast answer. I've seen you have declared (in your /etc/modules.conf) your main soundcard as an "snd-emu10k1". This have turned me happy, because I've thought I was wrong when I choosed the "snd-intel8x0" module to drive my soundcard. So, I tried to "modprobe" the emu10k1 module, but this failed too. Moreover, I'm unable to understant why the "snd-emu10k1" don't appear in your /proc/modules listing and, instead, does the "snd-intel8x0" (which is the one I've tried to load)
But you tell me you have two D845BG motherboards with sound working on it. Great! Now I know there _is_ some solution to my troubles. Perhaps a little more knowledge about your motherboard BIOS setting may help me (boot to PnP OS?, output of "lspci"...)
