[Alsa-user] Sample rate conversion

2004-01-09 Thread J. Scott Merritt
I've browsed and googled, but I having trouble understanding how to build an Alsa environment that will allow me to play WAV files with a higher sample rate than my sound card supports. Any pointers would be appreciated :) I am trying to play a 24 bit, 96,000 khz WAV file on my VXpocket V2 PCMCIA

switching over to the loud hissing noise ! The time period 1:28 also appears repeatable; just like the 30 seconds at 48,000. Any suggestions on how further attack this problem would be very much appreciated. Thanks, Scott. On Fri, 31 Oct 2003 20:15:03 -0500 "J. Scott Merritt" <[

Panu, You mentioned the 2.4.20-8 kernel. Sound like you might be running Redhat 9 (without recent kernel updates). If so, you might want to check first to see if your system already has some lowlatency patches. I did a lot of system patching/rebuilding before coming across a message from a red

[Alsa-user] VXPocket S24_3LE records noise after 30 seconds

2003-10-31 Thread J. Scott Merritt
My VXPocket V2 records perfectly each time at -f S24_3LE -c2 -r 48000 for the first 30 seconds. After 30 seconds have passed, however, it records only a loud, hissing noise with no evidence of the original sound source. The length of time until noise (30 seconds) seems very accurate and repeatabl
