Hello,
modinfo of snd-hda-intel seems to offer 2 paramters to identify a card:
model= and id=
And I would like to find out, how to identify the correct strings for
these parameters.
I have (depending on bios configuration) two hdmi cards and would like
to to differentiate them in modprobe.
As for the id parameter, I believe to have it found as
the output of /asound/cardn/id
That only leaves the model parameter open, as both HDMI seem
to have the same id, that seems to be the more appropiate value to use.

Thanks, I suppose this holds true for the mtpav driver, too?
It is a bit surprising, that the protocol is bus dependent, but thanks
for the heads up

Hello,
I am having troubles getting a Emagic Unitor working with either a PCI
or a PCIe serial addon card. Works fine with the onboard serial port,
though.
However, since I cannot pass thru the onboard serial port to a guest to
configure the device, I'd like to use an addon card. Also, in futu
I think I've got it. It seems to be simply an ordering issue within the
unit file. Moved the Preferred Sync Source one step down and it seems to
work now. Needs some more testing, though.

Hello,
I've been scratching my head for the last couple of days due to
crackling playback after boot.
I have a very simple unit file, that however does not seem to work. The
service part:

[Service]
Type=oneshot
RemainAfterExit=yes
# Setting up the HAMMERFALL soundcard.
ExecStart=/u
the slot option so far either.
Great help, thanks again!

my /cat/proc/asound/cards reads like this (shortened):

Hi,
I am having trouble with my motu midi express XT. I can recieve midi,
however the ports do not match, that is, physical port 5 matches "MTP
remote 3", but I cannot play back anything.
So the way external -> computer works, even though slightly twisted and
not yet heavily tested, but:

Hello,
I am having difficulties finding out wether the emagic MT4 is supported
by now. The most recent info I've found so far is from 2004... I believe
on this list actually. It was not at that time but maybe things have
changed by now.
I did find quite a lot about the AMT8 running fine, but h
You may also have a look at mididings: http://das.nasophon.de/mididings/
I am looking for a similar program and got above hint few days ago.
Would love to see a plugin for qjactl though, where you could just right
click a midi [in|out] port and apply the filter[s].

I can confirm that behaviour. I wonder, wether there is an alsa
solution to this, as I would like not to install or even use pulseaudio.
Wasn't dmix supposed to be able to handle this?
Until recently I was working around with jack for vlc, but since vlc 2
this does somehow not work anymore.

Hello & happy new year to everyone
After defective memory seems to have been the cause why my machine did
not recognize my hammerfall (not HDSP) card at all, it is there now, but
I still do not get it to work.

So contrary to its USB Midiinterface counterpart which repects the
vendor and ip settings (not plugged in here, but it does), the Edirol
does not. Any ideas?

Hello,
I figured, I am missing /dev/snd/seq, though I did compile alsa-0.91 --with-isapnp=no
--with-oss=no --with-sequencer=yes --with-cards="rme9652,trident". IIRC, /dev/snd/seq
is a native alsa device, so the missing oss compatibility, which I do not want, should
not be the reason.
I do have
Ouch. Well, my basic problem all the time has been, that I always used "ttable.x.y 0",
since I thought, the first card is zero. I had a similar setup like yours before
but misjudged the error message of hw:0,0, I suppose.

Hello,
I have a problem with 0.9.1 and the hammerfall card (true for 0.9_rcx, too): I am only
able to play back mono files. I have seen this issue has occurred before, but without
any solution, so maybe there is some more experience outside there by now.
"aplay -D foo.wav" just works, if test.
I'll try to explain as good as I know. No gurantee, though. Under Unix, drivers are
part of the Kernel. So, with a new kernel you get new drivers automatically.
However, a linux kernel (and others, too) is somewhat modular, so you can add drivers
as modules (similar as with windows, I guess).

Hello,
I have installed alsa-0.9rc (without oss) and drivers for the rme9652
and trident cards and set up modules.conf. Both card are loading without
any problems, though surprisingly not on demand but only manually.
The trident card is working fine, however the hammerfall is not. I also
