Hello, I figured, I am missing /dev/snd/seq, though I did compile alsa-0.91 --with-isapnp=no --with-oss=no --with-sequencer=yes --with-cards="rme9652,trident". IIRC, /dev/snd/seq is a native alsa device, so the missing oss compatibility, which I do not want, should not be the reason.
I do have a /dev/midiC0D1 device and I do have those modules loaded: snd-mpu401-uart snd-rawmidi snd-seq-device which clearly indicate midi capabilities. The card has a Midi Interface and I belive also some kind of crappy onboard synth. It's a Hoontech 4D WaveNX. Anyone any idea, why I could be missing the /dev/snd/seq device ? Or which (non developer) documentation I have been missing ? Haven't found anything indicating this device should be setup extra in the modules.conf, but for sake of completeness, here it is: alias char-major-116 snd options snd device_uid=0 options snd device_gid=18 options snd device_mode=0660 options snd cards_limit=2 alias snd-card-0 snd-rme9652 alias snd-slot-0 snd-card-0 options snd-rme9652 index=0 options snd-rme9652 id="hammerfall" options snd-rme9652 enable=1 alias snd-card-1 snd-trident alias snd-slot-1 snd-card-1 options snd-trident index=1 options snd-trident id="4dwavenx" options snd-trident enable=1 ------------------------------------------------------- This SF.net email is sponsored by: The Definitive IT and Networking Event.
