Hi,
I am using iec958 spdif output on gigabyte ga-965-ds3 motherboard with
onboard hda-intel, kernel 2.6.18.6 alsa 1.0.13, I dont have a
asound.conf or asoundrc. Most of my sound is coming from mythtv (ac3
and dts passthru enabled), this works really well provided I run the
following commands (jus

Cross posted as this is a request for advice rather than a bug/issue report.
When playing media using mplayer or xine, and outputting using
ac3/dts passthru spdif, if I pause and resume playback, or seek, there
are brief, horrible clicking noises when playback resumes, I assume
this is because t

Hi,
Can anybody comment on the alsa support for Gigabyte GA-965P-DS3 Intel HD Audio?
I understand that Intel HD audio is different on each board/chipset
and somtimes not well documented, so I would really liike to know if
anybody has used this board with linux and alsa drivers.
Thanks

Hi,I will be building a new HTPC soon using a Intel Core 2 Duo X6800 CPU, I need a motherboard with at least 3 PCI slots for DVB Cards, which limits my choice a little, can anybody recommend a board that has a audio chipset that is well supported by alsa? spdif output and hardware mixing including

Anybody know if the spdif output on Behringer RCA 202 works with Alsa?
The 202 is £22, my second and third choices (based purely on price)
are the Voyetra Turtle Beach Audio Advantage Micro or M-Audio Transit.
I realise there is a matrix document which details what outputs work
with which cards b
I've now got spdif output working (after a full reinstall) I am using
plug:spdif as output device, and passing spdif_aclink=0, playback
works from xmms, but if i fastforward, rewind, or seek in any way when
playback resumes the time counter and slider control quickly move to
the end of the track.
Hi,
I have tried to get spdif output working with shuttle st62k using alsa
in kernel 2.6.15 and 2.6.16, and using latest alsa sources, the
modules load fine and I can see the normal and spdif outputs are
there, but i have tried everything I can think of to output sound on
spdif and I get nothing a
