I have switched over from a Thinkpad 390E to a Thinkpad 390X. The
hardware is virtually identical between the two models, but I'm having
trouble on the 390X. Sound playback is 1/3 to 1/4 normal speed, and
even the slow slow is kinda 'chirpy' and choppy. All other hardware
works fine.

I tried using both pmidi and aplay midi and I get the
exact same results. One thing that is weird is that
classical midis seem to play fine, or at least better
than rock midis. The rock midis play fine in windows,

I compiled ALSA 1.0.3 on my Red Hat 7.3 box last week (./configure
--with-cards=cmipci --with-sequencer=yes;make;make install). I cannot get
Midi to function. The midi modules load up fine but when I try to play a
midi file I get:

KsCD simply instructs your CD drive to start playing. If there isn't

i have Alsa 1.0.3 installed on Redhat 8.0 with a Hoontech XG.
The Sound is very good, but after every reboot i must make "amixer set
IEC958 unmute".
Is there no way to save this settings???
