I know this thread is dead, but for my problem, later I removed arts and then install
2.6.0-test5 compiled with the ALSA drivers, and slightly modded my .asoundrc to make
this work without any distortion/static/white noice/weird anything.

and Intel ICH4 on GNOME 2.2/XMMS. Here the mail. This evening I tried
ALSA 0.9.6, but I got the same problem and after some test I found the
solution.

driver (for ALSA 0.9.4) available from the Realtek website. I've installed ALSA and
the new driver with no trouble, and my sound works, but there are still problems.
The big problem I have is that two programs ca

Firmware 11
ALSA 0.9.6
Jmax 4
Or at least the three above ???
I wonder if i try to get something running that is
still too buggy.
I downloaded hdspconf but after a freeze, when

Thanks a lot,
it now works fine..
The two problems were
1: I didn't know the options to add more than one device for a driver.
2: I forgot to load the Keystation firmware, therefore I got the
keystation working only after booting windows and I thought after having
seen it work once I thought that
