Hello, I have two sound cards working with ALSA driver.
aplay -l output: **** List of PLAYBACK Hardware Devices **** card 0: AudioPCI [Ensoniq AudioPCI], device 0: ES1371/1 [ES1371 DAC2/ADC] Subdevices: 1/1 Subdevice #0: subdevice #0 card 0: AudioPCI [Ensoniq AudioPCI], device 1: ES1371/2 [ES1371 DAC1] Subdevices: 1/1 Subdevice #0: subdevice #0 **** List of PLAYBACK Hardware Devices **** card 1: V8235 [VIA 8235], device 0: VIA 8235 [VIA 8235] Subdevices: 1/1 Subdevice #0: subdevice #0 card 1: V8235 [VIA 8235], device 1: VIA 8235 [VIA 8235] Subdevices: 1/1 Subdevice #0: subdevice #0 1) I would like kplayer to use the second card, but if I choose the "alsa9" audio driver the output goes to the first card found (es1371). Which device should I choose to force the via82xx ? /dev/adspX ? or what? (generally, is there any relation /dev/dspX <----> /dev/adspX ??) (oss emulation <--?--> alsa devices) 2) With oss OSS/ioctl audio driver & "/dev/dsp1" it works (via82xx) but the volume slider has no effect ! 3) maybe this is an mplayer-question, not alsa... ...but reading the mplayer documentation was of no help. I didn't find any option about mixer/volume settings. You can choose the audio driver but not the mixer, it is ok if you have only one sound card but with two or more? Am I missing something? Any help appreciated, Gabriele Persia. ------------------------------------------------------- This sf.net email is sponsored by:ThinkGeek Welcome to geek heaven. http://thinkgeek.com/sf _______________________________________________ Alsa-user mailing list [EMAIL PROTECTED] https://lists.sourceforge.net/lists/listinfo/alsa-user
