i installed the 0.9.6 driver, utils, tools, library and oss package according
to the manual, no errors or warnings anywhere. alsaconf even detects the

Hi all,
I do not know how I actually managed to get sound up and running, but it is
now working perfectly.
I think it might have to do with the fact that I ran depmod -a to rebuild
the dependency tree. I google searched about alsa and alsaconf and found a
post saying that doing the depmod help
