Running on 2.6.0-test3 and with otherwise pretty new software too (please ask what you need to know, so that I don't need to paste 500 lines of version information here).
I have ALSA & OSS emulation compiled in the kernel, real OSS is not used.
So, here are some results:
-Apparently all OSS emulation works as long as its not mmapped, tested with mplayer, xmms and q3demo (q3 wouldn't work since it uses mmap, it seems).
-AC3 format (mplayer's -ac hwac3 -ao alsa9) output works fine (but mplayer can't sync video with it for some reason).
-With aplay, mono sound works fine with at bitrate up to 96 kHz with any bitdepth (8/16/24 tested, others shouldn't be supported by the hardware).
-For stereo sound, on aplay, I get no sound output (no analog nor S/PDIF).
-ALSA9 output on xmms doesn't output any sound either, except for mono files (and only if mmap is disabled).
-If mmap is enabled in xmms ALSA plugin, it gives no sound at all, not even for mono.
So, what's broken?
