The via driver builds without errors but if i try to load the via82xx

Hello,
the inputs from my quattro are noisy and distorted. Sometimes the levels are very
low, and sometimes they are overdriven. They always have some kind of
digitizing-sounding noise. I have tried several versions of hotplug and alsa
including cvs, with the quattro .asoundrc from Patrick Sh

I have been using alsa for some time, and I have a problem, and to solve that I
will probably have to get a new sound card.
I have a Soundblaster Live 2.1, and had not had any serious problems until
recently when I got a new machine. Previously I had been able to load some very
large sound font f
Hello,
I'm having a bit of trouble getting my delta 66

My last email was read on windows, now i'm on linux and can't reply...
this doesn't work:

Ouch. Well, my basic problem all the time has been, that I always used "ttable.x.y 0",
since I thought, the first card is zero. I had a similar setup like yours before
but misjudged the error message of hw:0,0, I suppose.

There is a way to play Quake with this card? It´s a Via 8233, with
Realtek 650 codec (ac97).
When I run quake, I get an error about can´t acess or write mmap buffer
or something!

My first question is what ALSA release are you using? I think the multi-open
functionality started in 0.9.0rc3, so you would want a driver at least that new.

You shouldn't need to modify anything to get multiple opens in xmms. Both
the OSS plugin and alsa-xmms support multi-open without modification.

As far as I know there are two models of the SoundBlaster PCI 128.
Correct me if I'm wrong but I seem to remember one is based one the

Ahh, yes ... I seem to recall some talk about this some time ago. I

Hello alsa folks
I finally got some time to update my linux audio setup today for the
first time in a couple of months.
My main aim was to test the latest vxpocket driver and see if it works
with jackd/ ardour.
I installed alsa 0.91 from source, including installing vxloader in
/usr/local/b

Hello,
I have a problem with 0.9.1 and the hammerfall card (true for 0.9_rcx, too): I am only able to play back mono files. I have seen this issue has occurred before, but without any solution, so maybe there is some more experience outside there by now.
