I've just bought a new soundcard. It's the Soundblaster Audigy 2 Platinum
eX,
and I wonder if there is any driver development going on for it. If not what
should
I do to make someone do it ^_^?

Thanks for the suggestions. I chose to fall back to version rc6 (lib,
utils, and driver).
I'm closer to getting things going - but not quite there.
If I use the alsa-driver-*/utils/insert script I can get sound.
However, if I add the entries in the /etc/modules.conf I get the dreaded
pcm
can anyone who has ever used the rme hammerfall (9652) or hammerfall
lite (9636) successfully with the adat to rca spdif connector (the
dongle-ish thing that comes with the card) send me a copy of his/her
asound.state file?
i have had this card for some time but have never gotten the input that

when i play sound in rear speakers,neither the PCM Volume nor
the Master volume has any affect on it eg, i could turn
PCM and Master to minimum and sound would still come out the
rear speakers ... only the 'wave surround' mixer control
has an affect ..is this the way it is? or am i doing

Yes. To disable that one, add it to /etc/hotplug/blacklist, or recompile
the kernel without usb-midi.
