First, IoT devices have a lot longer life than 10 years. Second, browsers only
accept certs with much shorter lifespans. This is one of the reasons why I

support mDNS, the vast majority of it *does*. Using mDNS hostnames is a viable
alternative to using link-local addresses in URIs, and has been for a long time
