To add to this, it's remarkably easy to script posting to a slack
channel. I'm guessing it's just a easy for other similar tools such as
discord or telegram or whatever it is google is doing with messaging
nowadays.
The only caveat is that slack message notifications can be a bit unreliable
at
PagerDuty?

We send all our alarms to a Slack channel via Webpush and get notified about
them in the Slack app on our phones.
We use Uptime Robot to be notified about things from outside the network, via
the Uptime Robot app.

delivery to vtext.com is just deferred with a random error message. I
