systems either. I have one disk storagepool that only has 1 volume (SSA
disk) in it and it has multiple TSM clients writing to it at the same
time with no issues. Sure there might be some disk contention, but no

For 3590e drives we see somewhere between 30GB and 120GB per

logical libraries to the TSM server. Both of them use the same
/dev/lmcp0 device.
It works just fine, but I had to adjust many of my automation
scripts to work with 2 libraries, as we've always had just 1.

slots. They can all be intermixed.
The 3590 and 3592 DRIVES cannot coexist in the same frame, so
you must upgrade one whole frame at a time. On our 4 libraries, we
always upgraded the L22 first, as we could then put 4 3592
Yuck I love the 'dsm' interface. With the problems we seem to
encounter with different versions of Java and broken installations of it
on PCs, I'm really disappointed that it is being replaced with 'dsmj'.

of mounts is lost, so actual mounts per tape is a pure guess if you have

Interesting, I have done the same thing in our AIX test
environment in preparation to go to TSM 5.3 and have exactly the same
thing. Funny thing is that we have done the same thing on our test
Solaris TSM server and it worked fine.

Yes, that behavior has been discussed on the listserv about a month ago.
I believe someone had an APAR open on it with IBM.
I believe we were guessing that it was a problem with something in the
5.3 ML2 files that caused the different behavior on the windowing.
