I have an offsite tape pool volume in an unusual state. It reports itself as
0.4% and filling but if I try to move the data to another volume, Tivoli
reports that the tape contains no data, returning ANR2209W and ANS800, return
code 11. Examining the content of the tape brings back nothing. If I

I'm a bit stuck here. Tivoli won't delete the tape because it

That's the frequently posted issue of a volume needing an Audit
Volume to fix the condition. For research, look back in
Nicholas,
I think you are right to think about splitting your TSM instance
into two. An 80GB TSM database isn't all that large, but if you
anticipate it growing gradually bigger from there and never levelling
off, it doesn't make any sense to wait.

Hello Avy,
rc 106 means that your Error Log is not writable by the current
application...meaning that, if one already exists it was probably created
by root and the Application using the API is a non-root user, or the Error
Log is not created yet but your Application using the API does not have

I have a curiosity question. I saw your comment about moving from 3592
to LTO4 ?
Why would you do this ?All of my experience with LTO2 has been nothing
but problems/headaches.
We now have 9-3592-E05 (some over 1-year old) drives in our 3494 ATL and
they have been nothing but pure joy. Absol
Just to agree with John.
We find that we are upgrading tape technologies about ever 5 years, the
last jump was from 3590 to 3592 tapes. As he stated, TSM makes it very

...Additionally, does it make sense to incarnate another TSM instance?
Hello Nicholas,
yes it makes sense - not because of performance purposes or anything else,
but in case of
logical errors in your database, which require an dsmserv audit db - .. so
we have
a 3584 with 3592E05 and a Database(3
