there's no problem with your command. For safety reasons TSM always wants
to read the softlabel on checkin. Only checkout libvol will work with
"checklabel=barcode".

It means the client was not able to report the status of the backup. If
the backup is still running, you can see a ?. Or the backup was finished
and there was an error sending the status. This sometimes happens with
the 4.x client. Check the log file on the client for errors.

and /usr/spool are not backed up!

Under the last publishe set of naming conventions I've seen from IBM, this
should be a no-charge upgrade regardless of your current support level.

After the upgrade to ML10 and restart of the server I've lost one fcs
adapter and 2 tape drives. Within AIX fcs7, rmt3 and rmt8 are listed as
defined, not available. There are conflicts with other devices it look like
from the number I'm getting. How the hell does this happen?
I updated the atape
What I typically do in this situation is to delete ALL the tape drives
and adapters from AIX "rmdev -dl rmt*" and "rmdev -dl fcs*"
Then I run cfgmr to pick up the new devices. I have never run into the
situation where there was a drive disappearing such as this after a
simple ML upgrade.

Officially it is supported on AIX 4.3.3 for "Oracle 9i 9.0.1 or later".
And because there is specific note that for AIX 5.1 a PTF will be
available by October 31 this should say on AIX 4.3.3 it is supported right

IBM promised to have Oracle 9i 9.2 64-bit on AIX 5.1 supported by the end
of the month ("will be provided in a PTF available on the web by October
31, 2002"). So until you make the decision it ought to be available.
