What happens if you place the command as well as the output in another directory
than the one under c:\progra~1. Try for example c:\temp\compact.cmd and
c:\temp\compact.log. If this works it is very possible there is a problem with
the "~" sign.
Good luck

I had this problem with TSM 4.1.0.0 client on NT 4.0. The README on the CD states
that to solve you have to copy the "disk1" from the CD to your local harddrive and
then edit the setup.ini file in it to change "disk space" from 8000MB to MB. Then

No, within itself TSM has no way of preserving such information.
You may want to look at a third-party package like Bare Metal Restore

Well oddly enough, out DB backups have been going offsite since before I

Hello Bernhard,
Yes my TSM does recognize the mountableinlib and
mountablennotinlib states. Just as described under the help for "move
media" and "query media".
You method does seem bit simpler - but I was under the impression that
the "move drm" and "query drm" required a DRM license.
Hello ,
is it possible to use StorageTek LibStation client with TSM v4 server on

According to Storagetek sources client :
"Client System Component that complies with StorageTek's ACSAPI 1.0" .
I don't know Storagetek technology too much and really appreciate any
experience.

The command line client allows restore of local backupsets without a server
