We are trying to restore a file from tape to our NAS and the Web Client is not
showing the previous backups for any of the NAS backups. There are 7 inactive
copies and the backups have been working. The NAS is a LAN free backup. This
was previously tested and it did work.

You might designate a basic windows server as a backup server and
have it mount the CIFS shares from the vfiler and then run a regular
backup. This way, you could restore to any

You do need a NAS to restore NDMP data . No way around that.
You would have to switch to NFS/CIFS backups (as opposed to NDMP) in
order to restore
without the Netapp.
Maybe have a separate, short-retention CIFS backup just for DR purposes.
