because of instable journal backups) on Windows 2003 cluster server.
Cluster has 4 virtual servers on 2 cluster controlers (active /active or

If Journaling is on and working does this report at the end of the backup

In Version 5.1, a new parameter was introduced in the tsmjbbd.ini file
named PreserveDbOnExit . If this is set to a value of 1, then the journal
is preserved across journal service restarts and reboots. It defaults to 0,
which means invalidate the journal

One other thing to check - has this file system had a full progressive
incremenatal backup made against it? Look at the filespace with a 'q
filespace' command and check to see whether or not their is data in the
Last Backup Completed Date/Time field. A full progressive backup must have
been done in

I usually do 2 things to verify whether or not a journaled backup
has taken place:
