Hi,
this is a strange one - see the dsmsched.log extract below - at 15:28 the

it had decided that it was instead going to run the WED_INCR tomorrow
instead, thereby ignoring last night's schedule.

*SMers,
We are currently using image backups once a week to perform the full
image, and daily normal incrementals to keep up with Jones'. However, I'm
trying to reduce the 5 hours TSM spends traversing the 5 million+ file in
the filesystem each night.
I would like to assist the daily incrementals

but we have 120 tapes in our 60 slot 3583.
When space reclamation runs, it fails everyday, so they take a list of
tapes TSM asked for, get them off the shelf, and check them all in.
I think this was asked a very long time ago, and there was no real answer

Hi chaps/chappesses,
I've had a look in the archives, and there doesn't seem to be an immediate
solution to this one, so please help!
I'm trying to redirect the output of a script containing select statements
to a file in the file system. I can see that the redirect works from the
command line but
Hi Finn,
TDP for ORACLE for UNIX (and probably windows) states that all the files
generated have unique names. further down (pg 35/36) it states VERED and
RETO must be set to zero, and that the frequency, verexists, retextra, mode
and serialisation parameters are completely ignored.

Hi Y'all,
Can anyone who uses TSM's HSM facility, and also attempts to exclude one or
more directories in a space managed directory, please contact me off list.
Very many thanks to you all,

Hello
patrick,
One of my customers experienced this same problem but it was with a
TDP for LN GUI, not the standard backup/archive GUI. If you're using a supported
release (4.1, 4.1 and possibly 3.7, but you should ask TIvoli..)it may be worth
your while speaking to Tivoli to ask if there'
You'll hear, I'm sure from our friends and colleagues on this list, that
this is not one of the functions of TSM. Sure, you can back up all the files
and assume you'd get a working system back, but you can't guarantee it.
TKG's bare metal restore tool (BMR) is probably what you are looking for to
Renaming an HSM client's filespace.
Has anyone ever done this?
Was it succesful? I'm not anticipating any problems, but it's good to know..
Thanks all

Ruud,
No problem.

Hi all,
While I was trawling through a customers activity log, it occured to me that
my job would be much easier if the output of all the admin commands and
select statements entered at the command line and web interface was included
in the activity log. Does anyone agree with me? If you do, I ma
