Steve,
You will need to relocate full-text catalogs also.
When relocating databases that contain full-text catalogs, the full text
catalog names will also need to be specified as values to /relocate ... /to
options. E.g.
tdpsqlc restore SQLDB1
/relocate=datafile1,datafile2,log1,sysft_PageCatalo

If you are mounting/unmounting tapes from the current TSM server without
ACSLS then you don't need it for the Storage Agent/LAN-Free backup.
Just let the TSM manage the library.
I'm doing this currently with an STK-L700 library, 2 TSM servers and 10
STA's.

There are actually quite a few de-duping storage products on the
market now. IBM also discussed TSM-based dedup possibilities at the
Oxford TSM Symposium a couple of months ago.

The answer is yes, the exact why however, will have to be answered by someone
else. I believe it has to do with the DB design and TSM will only recognize
the actual last recorded DB size, not the last utilized size.

Yes. Just because is probably the best answer. It has to do with the
way the db structure is laid out originally. If you were to reduce the
database on the original system before you do the backup, then you could
restore into a smaller database...

Helder,
In our case we always direct the DB backup to a particular tape library by

backup db type=full devclass=ltoclass7
where ltoclass7 only has one device in it; which is in our DR alternate

Don,
If you install and configure a storage agent on your client with 2.5 TB
of data, you can take a backup across the SAN.
The backup starts, the client sees in his dsm.sys file that it should go

him a tape in a drive. The TS

Hi Larry!
We are using EMC DL700 disk libraries which emulate several 3584
libraries with LTO2 tapes.
Personally, I find the difference between primary and copy pool tape
count in your shop not as shocking as mine though...
