I believe that is a bit risky. A Reuse Delay of zero means a tape is a
candidate for reuse immediately after being emptied. If you reuse your
tapes that soon, and you have to restore back to an earlier DB backup,
there will be lots of files that are no longer where TSM expects to fin

a good idea because you prevent TSM from combining data into a internal
package prior to migration. We saw files as small as 1 KB migrating. That
forces your TSM server to track a HUGE number of objects.

All I can say is -- this works. TSM 5.1.6.3, actual library is a 3584
with 10 drives (becomes a 3584 with 6 drives at our hot-site, per
contract) We've run this config for three successful recoveries. (And we
may not even need the path definition for the library, but it doesn't

Until the TSM database is restored and TSM started, you live off the
device config file; after the restore, you live off the definition in
the TSM database.
So -- change the device config file -- I usually go with a one-drive
manual library, as that's all I need to get

If you look up message ANR2948E, it will tell you what the trouble is. You
can either look it up in the Messages manual, or type "HELP ANR2948E" (or
just "HELP 2948") from the Admin CLI.

You could use the "expire" command on client side to have it removed
during next expire inventory. Off course, the file will be backed up
again during next incremental if not excluded by any mean.
